this means I'm only going to the grocery store for special occasion groceries (like a huge fruit salad for a friend's birthday) or emergencies (like milk). I got mixed reactions... so we'll see how it goes. I'll post what we plan here, and I'll post our actual meals as well.
Here's our plan for the week:
Sunday~
Breakfast: Eggs for hubs, whole wheat waffles for ds#3 and me
Lunch: out to eat
Dinner: beef brisket in the crockpot, whole wheat egg noodles, cucumber salad
Snack: blueberry muffins (I used fresh blueberries)
Monday~
Breakfast: Eggs for hubs, waffle for ds, tomato sandwich for me ;)
Lunch: Flatout pizzas, pick-your-own toppings
Dinner: Roasted veggie tart (topped with an egg for hubby)
Tuesday~
Breakfast: Eggs for hubs, waffles for ds, something random for me
Lunch: Leftover brisket sandwiches
Dinner: TBA
Wednesday~ HAPPY BIRTHDAY, USA!
Breakfast: same as earlier in the week
Lunch: out to the beach with my parents - Fried Chicken
Dinner: to the ballpark for baseball and fireworks. Ball park food!
Thursday~
Breakfast: same
Lunch: 7-layer Taco Dip with tortilla chips
Dinner: Veggie supper! Blackeyed peas, corn on the cob, sliced tomatoes, cucumber salad, cornbread
Friday~
Breakfast: same
Lunch: Friend's birthday party at beach - bring fruit salad
Dinner: Birthday party - pizza & swimming
Saturday~ open at the moment....

We have been doing a pantry challenge since January 2nd (January 1st we have a huge party.) The reason was two-fold: 1. to save money by not even setting foot in a grocery store and 2. to see how long we could survive on the food we had stored. Here we are in week 27 and are still puttering along. It has been a really eye opening experience. Good luck to you in your challenge!
