Frugal Fridays

Crystal asked about foraging food on this week's Frugal Friday. We have a garden, so I feel like we "forage" daily! But we did have some wild blackberry vines that planted themselves in our yard, and we had a blast picking those! I personally love blackberries, but I went ahead and froze them for later. Well, later came... and I made this yummy recipe from Cooking Light. It was totally delish! And the blueberries came from relative, and I used the very blackberries I picked from my yard. Gotta love that.

Audra, I just jump in and give it a try... sometimes it works, and sometimes it works not so well.. but I learn a lot that way! :)

Wild blackberries - that's awesome! I would love to find some of those growing by us somewhere.

That recipe looks fantastic too. Thanks for sharing the link. I think I'll have to try it out. :)

We did the same thing here when the plants were producing! Now I have a nice little stash in the freezer :)

Thanks for your freezer list. I freeze all that kind of stuff to...but I never thought about the meat marinades before.

Dh & I are planning a berry patch and some of them will be coming from a dear auntie. I can hardly wait.
