This week's Thankful Thursday is about random thankfulness... which I feel deeply today.
After the events of the past week, and having to sing at a funeral for a baby, I am so appreciative of the time the God has given me with my own children. Being a mother is not something I really ever aspired to - because I taught young children for so many years, I wasn't sure I wanted to come home to a brood of my own! But God granted me the privilege of mothering 3 boys. Boys... the ones I felt least equipped for... He has shown His grace and strength in the midst of my weaknesses.
My oldest son just called today, to say that he is taking leave (after finishing a school) and will be home for two weeks, beginning next week. It thrills my heart to know that home is where he wants to be.

What a great Thankful Thursday. I wish your son a safe trip home.
Bless you so much for such a lovely comment when you visited me.
I stopped here earlier but left no comment because of not feeling well, I had to leave in a hurry.
How precious your words of your Thankful post. How difficult the task of singing at such a difficult time but I'm sure that the music brought much consolation.
I know that's what music does for me! How beautiful your truthful words of being a mother and your deep love that is very apparent!
Bless you and your time with your son since he chose HOME to be!
Can I get an AMEN! Great Thankful Thursday! :)
Hi! What a week you've had and still you praise the one who made us! But how could we do anything else at this time? I love that home is where you son wants to be too, I pray my boys grow up to be like yours.
That must have been just heartbreaking at the funeral, enjoy your visit with your son.
May God bless your dear heart.
